January 22, 2016
All through out the world, the Chinese New Year explodes with firecrackers, and Dragon and Lion dances, and is observed with religious rituals, gift-giving and family feasts.
In Bacolod City, we have, “Bacolaodiat.” Bacolaodiat comes from the words “Bacolod,” and “Lao Diat” (Fookien word for celebration).
Bacolaodiat is marked with dazzling illuminated colorful giant lanterns, lighted floats, fireworks, Chinese cultural dances, and Chinese food alleys along the Main Lacson Business Strip during the week-long festivity.
